I’ve learned how resilient these young kids are, how creative and inspiring they are in terms of what they do in order to survive and to try to have a “normal” school life. I think there’s this tremendous fight to not let people know about their situations or their challenges and to try to rise above the traumatic and harrowing things that happen to them in order to fight to really build something for themselves.
